The Vegetarian Resource Group Is On the Combined Federal Campaign List

The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the charitable workplace campaign conducted by the US government for all federal employees — military, civilian, and postal. The Vegetarian Resource Group is included among the organizations to which you can donate. Please don't pass up this simple opportunity to support vegetarianism and the work VRG does year round. For other workers, please remember to name The Vegetarian Resource Group in your matching gifts at work, or write in The VRG for your United Way campaign.

Way Better Than Sara Lee

At least we think so. The Fillo Factory introduces two delicious vegan desserts: an apple strudel, packed with apples, raisins, and cane sugar, and 12 assorted pastries (apple, blueberry, and cherry). The streudel is wonderful, as good or better than other frozen dessert pastries, and the small pastries are absolutely delicious and so low in fat, you could eat the whole box and still only have consumed 6 grams of fat.

For more information about these products, their vegan pastry shells, or their spelt fillo dough, contact the Fillo Factory at 74 Cortland Avenue, Dumont, NJ 07628-0155. You can also visit <>.

A New Top Tomato

Muir Glen introduces new organic fire-roasted canned whole tomatoes, and for the salsa-loving chef, fire-roasted diced tomatoes with canned medium green chilies. Use them in fresh salads or for a pasta sauce when your garden slows production to a few orangy fruit, or save them in the pantry for a veggie jambalaya or tasty soup in winter.
