Spicy Southwestern-Style Organic Salsas

505 Southwestern has introduced six certified organic chile sauces and salsas. These include flame-roasted green chile sauces in mild, medium, and hot varieties, a medium and a hot salsa, and a medium chunky chile sauce. An interesting fact about these products is that they are some of the few of their kind on the market that are made without onions.

Look for 505 Southwestern Chile Sauces and Salsas in specialty, natural foods, and retail stores. Or visit their website at <www.505chile.com> to find a retail location near you. A Kin to Garlic

Butter Garlic Zing makes a great mayonnaise or garlic butter substitute. The spreads, which are made from fresh garlic, can take the place of margarine or serve as a dip straight out of the tub. Try any of the five varieties — Original (Garlic Straight Up), Roasted Bell Pepper, Dried Tomato & Basil, Dill, and Jalapeño — to add a buttery flavor to your next dinner roll or baked potato.

For retail stores near you or for ordering information, contact Armanino at 30588 San Antonio Street, Hayward, CA 94544. You may also call (800) 255-5855, or write customerservice@armanino.biz. Visit them online at <www.armaninofoods.com>.

Old-World European-Style Soy Protein Sausages

Ever miss those sausage links your grandmother used to serve up in your youth? Tofurky now makes three kinds of plump, juicy sausages that rival the fare from any Brooklyn deli. Their Italian Sausage with Sundried Tomatoes and Basil, their Beer Bratwurst, and their Kielbasa are all cured in a smokehouse, infused with a taste that will make you feel like you've been transported to old-world Europe. Since they actually sizzle on the grill (and they won't dry out in the process), you could easily fool even your most carnivorous friends and neighbors at your next picnic.

For more information, contact Turtle Island Foods at P.O. Box 176, Hood River, OR 97031. You may also call them at (800) 508-8100, or refer to their website at <www.tofurky.com>.

Vegetarian Vacation Destination in France

Offering only vegetarian world cuisine, La Maison Du Vert is a newly refurbished guesthouse and restaurant in the French province of Normandy. Two hours from Paris, the hotel is in close proximity to the historic cities of Honfleur, Bayeux, and Caen, as well as to tourist attractions like the D-Day landing beaches and Monet's garden.

All of the food served in the hotel's restaurant is homemade fresh with organic produce, whenever possible, and there is always at least one vegan option on the menu. Previous vegan items have included vege-tarian sushi; polenta and roasted vegetables; aubergine (eggplant) and sweet potato bake with green olive sauce; and desserts, such as garden pears in local cider with almond cream, and oranges in Grand Marnier with chocolate sauce. The restaurant even uses vegan wines and ciders in their recipes.

For more information, you can visit the hotel's website at <www.maisonduvert.com>, or contact them at info@maisonduvert.com or 011-33-2-33-36-95-84. You also may write La Maison Du Vert, Hôtel Restaurant Végétarien, Ticheville, 61120 Vimoutiers, Normandie, France.
