Spring 1997

Editor: Brad Scott

VRG Wish List

Due to the hard work, creativity, and professionalism of our dietitians, The Vegetarian Resource Group now has two exciting opportunities which need funding.

The American Dietetic Association (ADA) Annual Meeting is in Boston this year. This conference is attended by approximately 10,000 registered dietitians from around the country. Thanks to our persistence, a panel on Raising Vegetarian Children has been accepted for this meeting. Our nutrition advisor, Reed Mangels, Ph.D., R.D. will be on this panel. We want to have a booth again this year to answer dietitians questions one on one. The booth costs $1,500, the materials we hand out cost $2,000, and our dietitians salaries and travel expenses are another $2,500. We appreciate any donations toward these costs.

Meals on Wheels will be distributing and publicizing the recipes soon. We need $600 for press releases, $2,000 for dietitians time, $2,000 for printing expenses, and $1,000 for additional publicity.

Thanks for your help on either of these two projects.
