One chart shows the estimated amount of water in\nliters used to produce one kilogram of food in the U.S. Another chart shows\nglobal averages of the quantity of water required to produce certain food products\nby liters. We also present the quantity of grains (kg) eaten by U.S. livestock\nto produce one kilogram of meat.
