Below are some examples of successes and activities. Your support is greatly appreciated! You can donate to VRG at  <br><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vrg.org\/donate\">www.vrg.org\/donate<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Here\u2019s\na sampling of some of our accomplishments and outreach:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25cf Over 1,200 registered\ndietitians visited The Vegetarian Resource Group virtual booth at the national\nFood and Nutrition Conference &amp; Expo. Many requested information for\nthemselves or to use with clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25cf Vegetarian Resource Group Nutrition Advisor Reed\nMangels, PhD, RD, did an interview for Fitbit on vegan athletes, an interview\nwith <em>Nutrition Action Health Letter <\/em>about antinutrients, and an\ninterview with the <em>New York Times <\/em>about vegan babies and children. Reed\nalso spoke virtually about The VRG and vegetarian children at the Maryland\nAcademy of Nutrition and Dietetics Annual Meeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25cf The Vegetarian Resource Group sent in testimony to\nthe 2020 Dietary Guidelines Committee, care of the USDA Food and Nutrition\nService, encouraging the committee to continue to stress the benefits of vegan\nand vegetarian diets, to expand the discussion about benefits of these diets,\nand to continue to identify these diets as healthful eating patterns. We\nwere able to refer a dietitian to a source of information she needed on a vegan\ndiet for a cancer patient. We found assistance for a person from Argentina who\nhad technical questions on tempeh production. VRG researcher Jeanne Yacoubou,\nMS, added to our ingredient list (whether vegan, vegetarian, or non-vegetarian)\nYellow Prussiate of Soda. See: <a href=\"http:\/\/vrg.org\/blog\/2020\/06\/18\/how-sustainable-is-vegan-leather\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vrg.org\/blog\/2020\/06\/18\/how-sustainable-is-vegan-leather<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25cf VRG donated <em>Vegetarian Journal<\/em> subscriptions to\nparticipants in a 10-Day Vegan Challenge sponsored by the Black Vegetarian\nSociety of Maryland. We sent 50 Vegan My Plates and 50 Vegan in a Nutshell\nbrochures for tabling at Easton, PA Vegfest and vegan information to 45\nprisoners. Finally, VRG hosted 12 virtual interns over the summer and 12 High\nSchool and College interns this fall. A new batch of interns will start in\nJanuary 2021. They all worked\/will be working on a number of exciting projects!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is just a small\nsampling of what we are doing at VRG every day. Thank you so much!
