FREE LISTING OF VEGETARIAN VACATIONS AND CAMPS

The Vegetarian Resource Group is giving away a free sampling of vacation spots and camps offering vegetarian/vegan meals in the United States.

Concerned about where to send your vegetarian son or daughter this summer? Order the vacation list with over 50 camps throughout the country, from Arizona to New York, from Vermont to Wisconsin. Getaways for all kinds of kids are included. The list features music and family camps, wilderness adventures, a sports and arts center, religious camps, kosher facilities, and camps with an international focus.

Vacation ideas abound for singles, couples, or families. At the foot of Mt. Shasta in California, visit the Stoney Brook Inn. You can dine at their organic vegetarian restaurant or cook your own meal in a fully equipped kitchen suite.

On the opposite coast, try The Duckett House Inn and Farm in Hot Springs, North Carolina. Located on five acres bordering the Pisgah National Forest, the inn offers activities like white water rafting, hiking on the Appalachian Trail, and hot springs mineral baths. Vegetarian breakfasts are made with organic produce and grains.

For the international traveler, Cultural Folk Tours offers trips to Turkey; Cunard Cruises meets special dietary needs with one month's advance notice; and the Majesty Cruise Line offers four different full-course vegetarian meals.

To order the 4-page Vegetarian Vacations -- A Sampling, send a self addressed stamped envelope with two first class stamps to The Vegetarian Resource Group, P.O. Box 1463, Baltimore, MD 21203.

The Vegetarian Resource Group is a non-profit organization which educates the public about vegetarianism. Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish or fowl. Vegans are individuals who do not eat any animal products, such as meat, fish, fowl, dairy, and eggs.

Also available from The Vegetarian Resource Group is Vegetarian Journal's Guide to Natural Foods Restaurants in the United States and Canada (296 pages), which lists over 2,000 restaurants, vacations spots, and more. Send $16 including postage to VRG, Box 1463, Baltimore, MD 21203. Or call (410) 366-8343.
