$10,000 IN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP MONEY TO BE AWARDED BY VEGETARIAN GROUP

The Vegetarian Resource Group is proud to announce that $10,000 in college scholarship money will be awarded each year to graduating high school students who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities. Two awards of $5,000 each will be given. Currently, applications may only be sent by students graduating from high school in spring, 2004. Deadline is February 20, 2004.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, and will be judged on having shown compassion, courage, and a strong commitment to promoting a peaceful world though a vegetarian diet/lifestyle. Payment will be made to the student's college (U.S. based only). Winners of the scholarship give permission to release their names to the media. Applications and essays become property of The Vegetarian Resource Group. We will ask finalists for more information.

Winners will be notified in June, 2004.

For application information, visit www.vrg.org or write to The Vegetarian Resource Group, P.O. Box 1463, Baltimore, MD 21203. Deadline for application is February 20, 2004. The student must be an American high school senior at time of application and plan on attending an American college.
