Finding Vegan Food in U.S. Airports

Airport websites are making it easier to find vegan food when traveling. Here are a few examples.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport allows you to easily filter restaurants using the keyword “vegan.”

Chicago Midway International Airport provides a list of dining establishments and shops that have vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free options. In some listings, vegan items are identified. As the document says, “guests should inform our associates of any special dietary needs when ordering and they will assist with needed substitutions if possible.”

Chicago O’Hare International Airport has a drop-down menu that allows you to select restaurants with vegetarian/vegan options. You will need to check individual restaurants for the availability of vegan dishes.

Denver International Airport provides a drop-down menu of food selections that includes vegetarian (not specifically vegan) items. Links take you to individual menus, many of which do not identify vegan items.

John F. Kennedy International Airport (New York) allows a search for “vegan” under their dining listing.

Miami International Airport allows you to select places that have vegetarian/vegan options. You will need to check individual restaurants for the availability of vegan items.

Portland International Airport (Oregon) offers a drop-down menu which allows you to select restaurants that have vegan options.

Reagan National Airport (Washington, DC) allows you to easily filter restaurants using the keyword “vegan.”

San Jose Mineta International Airport (California) – Type “vegan” in the box Search Restaurants and you’ll get a listing of restaurants with vegan options.

Washington Dulles International Airport has a “vegan” search term which allows you to identify restaurants that have vegan dishes.

This is not an inclusive listing, nor can we guarantee that establishments listed have vegan food. It is impossible to be 100% sure about a statement, info can change, people have views, and mistakes can be made. Please use your best judgment about whether a product is suitable for you. To be sure, do further research or confirmation on your own.
