VEGETARIAN NUTRITION FOR TEENAGERS

BROCHURE IN SPANISH

The Vegetarian Resource Group has released the new brochure Guía Alimenticia Vegetariana para los Jóvenes. This Spanish language handout for teenagers covers vegetarian sources of protein, calcium, and Vitamin B12, plus general nutrition information for those going meatless. Also included are vegetarian food ideas and an announcement of The Vegetarian Resource Group annual essay contest.

The brochure was written by Reed Mangels, Ph.D., R.D. Translation and editing were performed by Fannie Fonseca-Becker, M.P.H., R.D.; Ana Negron, M.D.; Myriam Parham, R.D.; Golden Age Foods staff; Cecilia Rosenblum; and Annabelle Simpson. These health professionals and educators are from Cuban, Colombian, and Puerto Rican backgrounds.

To obtain a copy of Guía Alimenticia Vegetariana para los Jóvenes send a self-addressed stamped envelope to The Vegetarian Resource Group, P.O. Box 1463, Baltimore, MD 21203.
