The Vegetarian Resource Group is hosting our 37th Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Vegan Potluck Dinner, showing appreciation for turkeys by not eating them! Join us in sharing a variety of festive, delicious, vegan dishes. All are welcome. Adult admission is $5 and children are free. Please bring a vegan dish - free of meat, fish, fowl, dairy, eggs, honey, or any other animal-derived ingredients - that serves 4 per adult in your party. Write ingredients of the dish on an index card to accommodate special diets.

We are also collecting canned foods for those in need. The event will take place Sunday November 18th at 5:00 PM in the North Baltimore Mennonite Church, located at 4615 Roland Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21210. 3) Veg Soc. of DC Thanksgiving Dinner, Thursday, November 22, 2018, Washington, DC

Annual Vegan Thanksgiving Celebration to be held at the Grand Hyatt (1000 H Street NW) in Washington, DC this year!

Tickets are $70 for VSDC members and $80 for non-members.

4) Earthsave Thanks-Living Celebration, Saturday, Nov 24, 2018, 6 pm, Baltimore, MD

Earthsave's last potluck of the year will be at Govans Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 24th from 6:00 until 8:30. There will be live music, and a chance to connect with like-minded people. RSVP and join them for a fun event! [ http://earthsavebaltimore.org/node/77 ]

Earthsave Baltimore is a volunteer operated nonprofit group that helps people learn a healthier and more peaceful way of eating and living. The Veg/Vegan Dinner Series meets on the last Saturday of the month at Govans Presbyterian Church, 5828 York Rd, Baltimore, 21212, next to the historic Senator Theater.

DINNER GUESTS may choose to either bring a dish made without animal products (to serve 8) plus $5 (members pay just $2) donation; pay $15 (members pay just $12) to enjoy dinner and presentation; or pay $5 for presentation only. We eat first, then make announcements, and then hear the presentation. Let us know in advance, if possible, if you plan to pay for dinner rather than bring a dish. 8) VRG Highlights

We sent 200 copies of the Vegetarian Journal along with 600 brochures to Vegan Community of Eastern Iowa in support of their first vegFest.

We assisted a new vegetarian company in finding food technologists.

We sent 200 brochures and coloring books to a dietitian working for 5 schools in Eastern Pennsylvania; books, brochures, and other literature to a chef in Florida who's teaching upper-elementary school children about veganism; and materials to a dietitian who works with children in a public high school in Delaware.

We sent 100 Veganism in a Nutshell brochures, along with several buttons, and samples of brochures and the Vegetarian Journal to a college vegetarian group at Baylor in Waco, Texas, plus a case of Vegetarian Journals and over 600 brochures to the Vegetarian Society of Hawaii for distribution at their VegFest Oahu.

VRG assisted a journalist with an article about vegan fish alternatives.

We ran an outreach booth at the annual meeting of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Special thanks to Reed Mangels PhD, RD and Catherine Conway MS, RD for helping us talk to over 1,000 dietians who came by the booth.

Our health professionals, activists, and educators work with businesses and individuals to bring about healthful changes in your school, workplace, and community. Registered dietitians and physicians aid in the development of nutrition-related publications and answer member and media questions about vegetarian diets. The Vegetarian Resource Group is a non-profit organization. Financial support comes primarily from memberships, donations, bequests, and book sales.
