3) FRESHBLEND SMOOTHIES

By Casey Brown, VRG intern

This past week I had the opportunity to try 100% organic vegan smoothies, and I didn’t even have to leave my house! Freshblend Smoothies is a new smoothie company based in Laurel, Maryland, and they deliver their smoothies throughout Maryland, DC, and Virginia. The company is headed by a Registered Dietitian who understands the importance of fresh, whole foods. They serve their smoothies to individuals living in the DMV and Farmer’s Markets in the area, and they also do catering for private events. The smoothies are made up entirely of fresh fruits and vegetables, and there are no added sugars or preservatives. All of the ingredients are organic and vegan, which give them a fresh and delicious taste. The company offers five flavors: Rain Forest Blend, Forest Blend, Volcano Blend, Tropical Blend, and Beach Blend. These are each made up with a unique combination of fruits and vegetables that give them each a great flavor!

I loved each of the smoothies. The Tropical Blend and Beach Blend both had a very fruity, refreshing taste to them with a hint of ginger. The Volcano Blend had a more tart flavor since it blended together many berries. And the Rain Forest Blend (my personal favorite) combined the taste of fresh fruits with spinach and a hint of mint, which made for a refreshing green smoothie. All of the smoothies were perfectly blended together for a smooth consistency. Not only do the smoothies taste great, but they are also served in really nice jars that make them easy to serve and store (although you probably won’t have any left to store)! In addition to the quality of the smoothies, the customer service was also reliable and efficient, and the staff was very friendly and eager to answer any questions!

If you are interested in trying their smoothies or having them cater one of your events, you can visit their facebook page [ https://www.facebook.com/freshblend/ ] , email them [email protected], or give them a call (240-450-2948).
