The Vegetarian Resource Group is hosting our 37th Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Vegan Potluck Dinner, showing appreciation for turkeys by not eating them! Join us in sharing a variety of festive, delicious, vegan dishes. All are welcome. Adult admission is $5 and children are free. Please bring a vegan dish - free of meat, fish, fowl, dairy, eggs, honey, or any other animal-derived ingredients - that serves 4 per adult in your party. Write ingredients of the dish on an index card to accommodate special diets.

We are also collecting canned foods for those in need. The event will take place Sunday November 18th at 5:00 PM in the North Baltimore Mennonite Church, located at 4615 Roland Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21210. 5) Veg Soc. of DC Thanksgiving Dinner, Thursday, November 22, 2018, Washington, DC

Greetings! This is a friendly reminder to buy your tickets for our Annual Vegan Thanksgiving Celebration to be held at the Grand Hyatt (1000 H Street NW) in Washington, DC this year! Earthsave's last potluck of the year will be at Govans Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 24th from 6:00 until 8:30. There will be live music, and a chance to connect with like-minded people. RSVP and join them for a fun event! [ http://earthsavebaltimore.org/node/77 ]

Earthsave Baltimore is a volunteer operated nonprofit group that helps people learn a healthier and more peaceful way of eating and living. The Veg/Vegan Dinner Series meets on the last Saturday of the month at Govans Presbyterian Church, 5828 York Rd, Baltimore, 21212, next to the historic Senator Theater.

DINNER GUESTS may choose to either bring a dish made without animal products (to serve 8) plus $5 (members pay just $2) donation; pay $15 (members pay just $12) to enjoy dinner and presentation; or pay $5 for presentation only. We eat first, then make announcements, and then hear the presentation. Let us know in advance, if possible, if you plan to pay for dinner rather than bring a dish. VRG Nutrition Advisor Reed Mangels PhD RD was able to provide advice when a reporter from U.S. News and World Reports called with a question concerning best diets as related to vegetarianism, including which foods to limit from a nutrition standpoint when eating a vegetarian diet.

VRG Nutrition Advisor Reed Mangels PhD RD interviewed for the New York Times Well Family section on how parents can handle a situation where just one of their children has decided to become a vegetarian in a family of meat eaters.

A European researcher asked us for advice of topics related to vegan pregnancy that needed to be investigated.

A private label manufacturing company asked us for information concerning products and appropriateness for a vegetarian lifestyle.

The table Protein Content of Selected Vegan Foods from Simply Vegan by VRG Nutrition Advisor Reed Mangels PhD RD is being reprinted in ACLM's Lifestyle Medicine Handbook by Beth Frates, Jonathan Bonnet, Richard Joseph, and James Peterson, which was scheduled for publication in October, 2018.

We’ve sent literature to Allegheny College’s vegetarian student group in Meadville, PA.

We were asked for permission to share a few recipes from our Vegan Meals for One or Two on various vegan recipe Facebook groups. The inquirer said these were great recipes and people loved them. Thank you to Chef Nancy Berkoff, RD for creating this book.
